Six and Half Years

Six and a Half years. The minimum time you need to become a doctor in India. And at the end do you feel like a Doctor?Do you feel like you are equipped enough to handle a Human Being's life in your own hands?

From the First year, when you can blame absolutely everything to the reason that your new to an institution, new to a profession, till the Final year when one is supposed to be well versed with about 30kilos of books, today is the day most awaited by any Medical student.
The day you finish your internship.

From the hectic, sleepless and exciting duties in the Casualty Dept to the dull meaningless Night Labor Duties, nothing prepares you for The Push.
The Push into the Real World.

What it does teach you is much more important than your ability to be a Doctor.
It teaches you Compassion.
It teaches you a Stranger's Pain.
It teaches you to restrain yourself.
It teaches you the Value of Life.
It teaches you the impact of a Scar.

So,after Six and a Half years,5 kilos heavier, after 2 heartbreaks, innumerable praises,a few curses,I am not the Best Doctor but I am a better Human Being.
